Hotel Engineer

Job Purpose:

- The primary purpose of the Hotel Maintenance Engineer at HOTEL CHALET - CHATTANOOGA is to ensure the efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within the hotel. This role is crucial in maintaining a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for guests and staff alike.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine maintenance tasks, including inspections and preventive maintenance on all hotel systems and equipment.

Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff, ensuring timely and effective resolution of issues.

Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to ensure optimal performance and safety.

Collaborate with management to develop and implement maintenance plans and schedules to minimize downtime and disruptions.

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and repairs.

Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and hotel policies, promoting a culture of safety and awareness among staff.

Assist in the management of inventory for maintenance supplies and equipment, ensuring availability and cost-effectiveness.

Provide technical support and guidance to other maintenance staff as needed.

Participate in training and development programs to stay current with industry standards and advancements in maintenance technology.

Required

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent; a degree or certification in engineering or a related field is preferred.

Required Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance engineering, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.

Proven track record of managing and executing maintenance projects, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.

Experience with preventative maintenance programs and procedures.

Skills and Abilities:

Strong knowledge of building systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues efficiently.

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with hotel staff and management.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.

Basic computer skills, including familiarity with maintenance management software.
