Maintenance Team

The maintenance Team Member is responsible for the maintenance and repair of the building and infrastructure including HVAC system and equipment throughout the hotel. This includes ongoing preventative maintenance projects, renovations, plumbing, painting, sheetrock work, electrical and carpentry. The position may also require custodial work as necessary while providing optimum service and satisfaction to hotel/restaurant guests and visitors; showing individual performance effectiveness, and following proper security & liability measures to protect the assets of the hotel and the Company.

Essential Functions
  • Ability to identify maintenance and repair issues and initiate work orders
  • Report and follow up on maintenance deficiencies
  • Complete work orders and all necessary assigned repairs
  • Perform preventive maintenance and maintain mechanical logs in an organized manner
  • Resolve guest problems and handle all guest requests in a timely manner according to hotel standards
  • Complete duty rounds checklists and correct noted problems
  • Correct use of office equipment, EMS system and Life Safety Systems (training provided)
  • Willing to be cross‑trained in all aspects of the department
  • Carry out policies and procedures set forth by the Center
  • Initiate and maintain effective communication with operational areas
Specific Job Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Previous experience or training in a similar role preferred
  • Must be organized and have good time‑management skills
  • Must have the ability to understand, read, write and speak English and communicate with guests and Team Members of other departments
  • Must have basic computer skills
  • Must be able to take direction, understand and carry out instructions given
  • Must have the ability to comply in standardized situations with only occasional or no variables
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts
  • Must have excellent customer service skills
  • Must be able to work without constant supervision
Physical Demands
  • Stand or walk for long periods; use arms, hands and legs repetitively; handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Be able to work at various heights on ladders, roofs, etc.
  • May routinely be required to lift and/or move weight up to 50 pounds, and move or lift weight in excess of 50 pounds using proper equipment and resources
  • Be capable of effectively using close vision, distance vision and color vision
  • Ability to operate in physically stressful situations
Work Environment
  • Often work near moving mechanical parts
  • Noise level usually moderate, may become loud from time to time
  • Work routinely with various chemicals, cleaning supplies, paint and painting solutions while using proper safety supplies and equipment
  • May frequently be exposed to dust or mold
  • Work may be indoors, outdoors or in possible inclement weather; during winter months may be required to shovel snow
Qualification Standards
  • High school education or equivalent required; some college preferred
  • Preferred 1 year related experience or training
  • Must be able to work well in a team environment
