-based manufacturer of plastic pails and packaging solutions. We operate in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where equipment reliability, safety, and teamwork are essential to keeping production running efficiently.

Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Lead performs a variety of technical tasks related to equipment maintenance while providing functional leadership for the assigned shift. This role plans and coordinates daily maintenance activities, assigns work, and supports the maintenance team while performing work at a Maintenance Technician III level or above. The Maintenance Lead provides day‑to‑day direction but does not have hiring, firing, or disciplinary authority.

Schedule: 3rd shift, Monday-Friday, 10:30PM-7:00AM

Key Responsibilities
  • Plans and prioritizes repairs, assigns work orders, and oversees daily activities of Maintenance Technicians on the assigned shift; serves as the primary maintenance point of contact during the shift
  • Coordinates assigned activities and manpower for planned equipment outages
  • Responds to equipment breakdowns and restores machinery to safe operating condition with minimal downtime
  • Carries the Maintenance Phone at all times while on shift
  • Responsible for first aid and accident reporting for maintenance personnel on the assigned shift
  • Attends shift handover meetings and communicates critical information impacting daily operations to the maintenance team
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area in the maintenance shop and while performing maintenance on the production floor
  • Communicates daily stocked parts requirements and replacement parts needed for breakdowns and upcoming repairs with the Maintenance Planner
  • Actively participates in daily maintenance activities while providing guidance and oversight to the maintenance team
  • Ensures the maintenance team adheres to all company safety standards, procedures, and policies; reports safety violations to the Maintenance Supervisor
  • Coordinates the transfer of locks across shifts and communicates all active LOTO activities to the incoming shift
  • Communicates emergency maintenance issues occurring during the shift to the Maintenance Supervisor
  • Troubleshoots complex mechanical and electrical problems
  • Performs maintenance on all assigned machinery and equipment
  • Trains lower-level maintenance team members as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electronics, and electrical/mechanical equipment
  • Ability to troubleshoot a variety of industrial equipment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Proficient in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and day-to-day maintenance operations effectively
Education
  • GED or High School Diploma required
  • Associate degree or technical degree in a related field preferred
Experience
  • Five (5) or more years of industrial equipment maintenance experience required (experience in an injection molding facility preferred)
  • Previous experience in a Lead Technician or similar leadership role preferred
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry 25–50 pounds frequently
  • Ability to assist with lifting more than 75 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to bend, stoop, stretch, climb ladders, and perform physical maintenance activities throughout the shift
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment that may be hot or cold
  • Ability to wear required PPE at all times (safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.)
Licenses & Certifications
  • Forklift Certification required (in-house training provided)
