Description

The Landscape Technician is responsible for performing general landscaping & maintenance tasks on properties and equipment managed by the Tennessee Aquarium.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintains the cleanliness of the grounds, parking lot, walkways, water features, and buildings on the Aquarium Plaza
  • Grounds maintenance: mowing, weed eating, trash pickup, pressure washing, landscaping and irrigation systems maintenance
  • Operates and maintains the three water features on the Aquarium Plaza which will include pumps, filters, and water quality management
  • Facility and grounds lighting; re-lamping and minor repairs
  • Performs general maintenance tasks on facility finishes such as handrails, door hardware adjustments, and painting
  • Performs preventive maintenance and minor repairs on air handling equipment; change filters, clean coils, fan housing, fins & unit interior, and belt replacement
  • Performs work in a manner that fosters the Aquarium's mission and reflects its core values and service standards
  • Key Requirements

    • High school diploma or GED preferred
    • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record preferred
    • Certified Pool Operator Certification preferred
    • Self-motivated, with good communication skills with the ability to interact with co-workers and guests in a way that promotes our core values and service standards
    • Mechanical aptitude for facility and grounds maintenance
    • Enjoy working outside
    • Quick learner with attention to detail.
    • Ability to work alone while staying on task
    • Previous grounds maintenance, facility maintenance, or construction experience preferred
    • Basic computer skills: accessing email and internet preferred

    Full-time, hourly ($17.00/hour) ; must be able to work some weekends and holidays as needed, as well as a flexible schedule.
