Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Maintenance Planner

The Maintenance Planner / Scheduler is responsible for planning and scheduling low-priority routine and special maintenance work, including capital projects, within assigned areas. This role improves maintenance efficiency by defining the scope, labor, materials, tools, equipment, and timelines required to safely and effectively execute work.

- Coordination of maintenance schedule and production schedule
- Planning job tasks for work orders and assisting with scheduling of maintenance work
- Prompt, timely service for all customers
- Identification and staging of equipment, material and tools necessary for the execution of maintenance work
- Preparation of job packages with bill of materials, estimates of manpower, job steps, and tools necessary for execution of maintenance work for BASF technicians and contractors
- Compilation of information and input into SAP including work orders, work history, costs and actual work performed
- Ongoing coordination of outside services with various suppliers
- Coordination of purchase of parts and materials with Procurement and Storeroom
- Coordination of all purchase orders for services
- Monthly update of all department metrics
If you have...
- Vocational, trade or apprentice training.
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of maintenance, operations, and engineering activities in the chemical industry.
- Strong oral and written communication and listening skills.
- Detailed familiarity and knowledge of maintenance related SAP transactions and tasks.
- Self-starter who can make sound judgements and decisions pertaining to planning maintenance work.
Desired:
- 5-10 years' experience as maintenance craftsperson in the chemical industry.
- Experience in maintenance planning and scheduling, preferably utilizing SAP techniques.
- Proficient with computer systems and associated software, including SAP, Microsoft Office Suite, Access, and Project.
- Experience with Mechanical Integrity requirements in the chemical industry.
- Strong planning and organization skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
