2nd-Shift Facility Maintenance Technician (Contractor)
The 2nd-Shift Facility Maintenance Technician (Contractor) provides general upkeep and basic repairs for plant and office facilities, primarily at the Chelmsford micro-electronics manufacturing site, while also supporting additional buildings as needed. Working the M-TH 2nd shift (≈2:30pm–1am), this position handles routine facilities issues and basic equipment troubleshooting ranging from electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and plumbing tasks. Follows work orders and or other general instructions, conducts inspections, logs completed work, and offers limited janitorial support (e.g., trash removal, floor cleaning) when workload permits or support is required.
Qualified candidates possess a high school diploma/GED (trade certification or 1–2 years of hands-on maintenance experience preferred), can work independently and efficiently, demonstrate basic critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities, and are proficient with hand/power tools and basic electrical/mechanical systems. Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 lb, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces with prolonged standing, walking, bending, and kneeling.
Basic required qualifications:
- Ability to obtain a security clearance is required. Interim clearance is required to start position.
- No degree required, high school diploma okay
- 2+ years maintenance experience
- 2+ years facilities experience
- 2+ years experience with general maintenance experience
Strong performance during the initial assignment period (approximately eight months) may open the door to extended or full-time engagement with the company. PPE in the form of steel toe shoes are required. All other PPE will be provided.
