Our work depends on the Field Technician II joining our team to ensure MK 41 VLS equipment is maintained and tested to the stringent VLS requirements to maintain National Security.

• Fabricates, installs, maintains, and repairs electronic, mechanical, and/or other types of components and equipment.
• Work with the GDIT VLS Team to ensure operational status of contracted VLS work is completed to required procedures and specifications.
• Identify and correct any deficiencies found.
• Work with a competitive and highly trusted GDIT VLS Team.
• Support the GDIT VLS Team to ensure the Fleet and Program are maintained to the highest levels.

• Required Experience/
  
  Education:
  
  2 years of related USN Shipboard Equipment experience. Associate’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Required Technical
  
  Skills:
  
  Ability to assist in the removal and/or installation of equipment onboard CG/DDG class of USN ships; knowledge of hand and power tools; and ability to drive a stake truck into shipyard or naval base environments.
• Security Clearance Level: Secret. Must have or be able to obtain both a security clearance and a DBIDS/CAC.

  Solving, communication, Microsoft Word and Excel, understanding of basic hand/power tools, test equipment and gauge calibration. Heavy lifting and prolonged standing on naval deck plates required.
• Preferred

  MK‑41 VLS NEC 0981 desired but not required. Ability to assist in the removal, overhaul, test, and/or installation of VLS cell hatches, uptake hatches, deluge valves, deluge hoses, Marotta valves, Hy‑Check valves, root and isolation system valves under direction of qualified VLS SMT or TD in accordance with NAVSEA requirements, Navy MRCs, VLS Authorized Procedures, and Technical Manuals.

  Chesapeake, VA. Must be able to travel. US Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain/maintain Secret clearance.

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $26.35 - $35.65. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
