July 1, 2026 – September 4, 2026 – a seasonal role for Chesapeake residents ages 16‑19. The program offers onsite work experience across City facilities such as South Norfolk, Indian River, Rivercrest, Deep Creek, Camelot, and Western Branch.

Pay: $15/hour
Participants will work alongside City employees in a supportive, team‑oriented environment, building skills such as communication, teamwork, customer service, professionalism, and time management.
General duties may include:
- Community Center
- Greeting and checking in patrons
- Assisting with recreational activities and programs
- Cleaning and organizing facilities
- Providing customer service to visitors
- Grounds Maintenance
- Weeding, landscaping, and spreading mulch
- Assisting with grounds upkeep and beautification
- Emptying trash and removing tree limbs or debris
- Working outdoors alongside maintenance staff
- Provide own transportation to and from work
- Arrive at the work site at the time designated by supervisor
- Perform tasks assigned by supervisor efficiently
- Demonstrate honesty, punctuality, courtesy, a cooperative attitude, appropriate dress, and a willingness to learn
- Conform to the guidelines of the work site
