Full-Time Night Custodian
This full-time night custodian position plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for employees and the public in State facilities. Working collaboratively with team members, this position is responsible for performing general cleaning duties across a variety of areas and surfaces to ensure facilities are well-maintained and presentable.

Essential functions include:
- Responsible for general cleaning, vacuuming floors and furniture, emptying trash and recycling containers, dusting, mopping, sanitizing, washing windows and mirrors, and cleaning/stocking restrooms, bathrooms, and offices.
- Learn where custodial supplies are kept and replenish supplies when needed.
- Observe and identify areas that need repair and submit information to the supervisor.
- Complies with state and federal policies such as OSHA and EPA.
- Operates and maintains equipment, including hand and shop tools.
- Moves furniture and sets up conference rooms for meetings and events.
- Performs designated watchman rounds to ensure security and safety, checks building systems for proper function, and updates security logs.
- Performs chemical renovations.
- Monitors fire protection systems.
Preference will be given to applicants with prior experience working with cleaning materials and chemicals. Knowledge of materials, supplies, equipment, and methods of more technical cleaning and maintenance is required. Knowledge of power and manual tools, as well as OSHA and EPA regulations, is also necessary.
Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma and 0-6 months of progressive work experience in building and grounds, or 1-2 years of progressive work experience in building and grounds.
Physical working conditions include exposure to hazardous materials, chemicals, bio-hazards, and elements. Must be able to drive vehicles and operate large, complex cleaning and grounds maintenance equipment. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
This is for a full-time, Monday-Friday night-time position with a shift differential. Employment is subject to a successful applicant passing a background check.
