Full-Time Night Custodian
This full-time night custodian position plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for employees and the public in State facilities. Working collaboratively with team members, this position is responsible for performing general cleaning duties across a variety of areas and surfaces to ensure facilities are well-maintained and presentable.

- Responsible for general cleaning, vacuuming floors and furniture, emptying trash and recycling containers, dusting, mopping, sanitizing, washing windows and mirrors, and cleaning/stocking restrooms, bathrooms, and offices.
- Learn where custodial supplies are kept and replenish supplies when needed.
- Observe and identify areas that need repair and submit information to the supervisor.
- Complies with state and federal policies such as OSHA and EPA.
- Operates and maintains equipment, including hand and shop tools.
- Moves furniture and sets up conference rooms for meetings and events.
- Performs designated watchman rounds to ensure security and safety, checks building systems for proper function, and updates security logs.
- Performs chemical renovations.
- Monitors fire protection systems.
Preference will be given to applicants with prior experience working with cleaning materials and chemicals.
- Knowledge of materials, supplies, equipment, and methods of more technical cleaning and maintenance.
- Knowledge of power and manual tools.
- Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations.
Education:
High School Diploma
Experience:
0-6 months of progressive work experience (typically in Building and Grounds) OR 1-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Building and Grounds)
Exposure to hazardous materials, chemicals, bio-hazards, and elements.
Must be able to drive vehicles and operate large, complex cleaning and grounds maintenance equipment.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
FLSA:
Non-Exempt
This is for a full-time, Monday-Friday night-time position with a shift differential.
