Controller, Accounting, Financial Reporting

What You'll Do

As the Financial Controller, you will serve as the senior finance leader for the organization, partnering closely with the CEO and ownership team.

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections
• Oversee construction accounting activities, including job costing, WIP schedules, and percent-of-completion accounting
• Manage payroll across multiple job sites, wage classifications, and union jurisdictions
• Ensure compliance with certified payroll, prevailing wage requirements, union reporting, and fringe benefit contributions
• Drive financial analysis, including variance, trend, profitability, and cost analysis to support strategic decision-making
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, reporting, and operational efficiency
• Oversee compliance with tax filings, government reporting, and other financial regulations
• Support ownership with operational reporting, insurance, benefits administration, and other business initiatives

• 5+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
• Strong construction accounting experience, including WIP and job costing
• Thorough understanding of percent-of-completion accounting and project-based accounting environments
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience with Quick Books; ERP experience (Sage, Net Suite, etc.) is a plus
• Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
• Experience in a high-growth or private equity-backed environment preferred
• Hands-on mentality with the ability to build processes and thrive in an entrepreneurial setting
• Ability to work onsite in Chicago Heights, IL five days per week
• Base Salary + 10% bonus
