TITLE:Early Childhood/At-Risk Preschool Teacher
QUALIFICATIONS:
Current PEL (Public Educator License) with a SCG3 (Early Childhood - Self-Contained General Education), ECT (Early Childhood Special Ed) Approval, and ESL endorsement. Experience in Early Childhood/Pre-K setting desired.
JOB SUMMARY:
The ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with educational team members and parents regarding preschool readiness skill development to be reinforced in the classroom and home environment.
REPORTS TO:
Building Principal and other Administrative personnel. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary, benefits, and work year as established in the Teachers' Contract. SALARY RANGE: $49,144 - $60,348. Salary commensurate with experience. PENSION SYSTEM: TRS RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct Service:
- Establish rapport with and develop individual techniques to motivate and manage each student.
- Provide a structured program of academic and activities with sufficient flexibility to hold interest and meet needs, as outlined by the Preschool For All Grant and Preschool Curriculum.
- Allow learning centers to be student driven while supporting and encouraging involvement in all developmental areas.
Administration:
- Plan, implement and evaluate the individual educational plan for each child.
- Prepare all reports required by administration.
- Prepare detailed lesson plans for daily schedule.
- Participate in regularly scheduled preschool screenings.
Communication:
- Attend MTSS meetings and IEP meetings of students assigned to class.
- Attend inservice programs and general faculty meetings.
- Establish and maintain regular communication with parents.
- Identify needs for and request services of consultants.
- Give input to development of philosophy, objectives, procedures and evaluations of the program.
Other:
- Maintain a neat, orderly and attractive classroom, in conjunction with the ECERS expectations.
- Lift and relocate children/equipment as needed.
- Assist with self help, toileting, and self care skills.
- Sanitize materials/equipment in accordance with Board policy.
- Perform all duties assigned by the building principal.
