Adjunct Faculty, Adult Basic/Adult Secondary Reading
Prairie State College seeks an experienced adjunct instructor to teach Adult Basic Education/Adult Secondary reading classes for the Fall 2026 semester. Successful candidates will have the ability to address a variety of literacy concepts for adult learners.
Fall Semester Session I is Monday, August 31 – Thursday, November 19. Session II is Monday, September 21 – December 10. Classes meet Monday/Wednesday and/or Tuesday/Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
This position is for on‑campus teaching in the Adult Training and Outreach Center on the PSC campus.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in English or a related field
- Experience teaching adult learners
- Ability to use technology to enhance teaching and learning
- Excellent writing and organizational skills
- M.A. in English or a related field
- Experience teaching in an Adult Education program
- Online teaching experience
- Online teaching certification
