Position OverviewFence Masters is seeking a detail-oriented CAD Drafter / Project Assistant to join our team full-time onsite in Chicago. This position is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional interested in growing within the construction and fencing industry. The ideal candidate is organized, eager to learn, and comfortable managing project handoffs in a fast-paced environment. Experience with AutoCAD or similar drafting software is required.
Candidates with drafting, construction, fencing, or project coordination experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Create and revise fence layouts and construction drawings using CAD software
- Assist with project coordination, scheduling, and administrative support
- Review site plans, blueprints, surveys, and measurements
- Coordinate with project managers, crews, vendors, and clients
- Create work orders based on quotes and project plans
- Obtain and manage dig numbers and other related permitting information
- Track bids, proposals, and other key project metrics through organize project documentation
- 2-3 years of drawing experience
- Recent graduate or early-career professional preferred
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Drafting & Design Technology, CAD Technology, Construction Management, Architectural Drafting, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field preferred
- Experience with AutoCAD or similar drafting software required
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read construction drawings and measurements
- Construction, fencing, or project coordination experience is preferred
- Motivated to learn and grow within the company
- Familiarity with AI-assisted workflows or automation tools is a plus
- Competitive pay based on experience
- Typical range: approximately $26–$34/hour
