Salary Range: $52,000.00 To $56,160.00 Annually

The Furnace Operator maintains and ensures operational and mechanical performance by monitoring the Casting Line and equipment. Charges, pours the Main Furnace and/or the Small Furnace depending on the specifications of the project. Reports and issues to the Supervisor.

• Wears all PPE.
• Follows all safety protocol.
• Understands, observes, and respects safety rules and performs all work in a safe manner. (glasses, shoes, face shield, helmet, gloves, spats, etc.)
• Reports any and all safety concerns to Supervisor.

• Maintains and ensures operational and mechanical performance by monitoring the Casting Line and equipment.
• Charges, pours the Main Furnace and/or the Small Furnace depending on the specifications of the project.
• Understands how to perform tasks using equipment.
• Understands the inline process and flow and how to speed it up and slow it down.
• Reports to supervisor if casting speed is wrong.
• Operator controls the flow of the metal coming out of the furnace to maintain the speed of flow for optimal performance.
• Process flow – if the inline stops or electrical goes out, whoever is skimming stops the Estop;
  Alert and hit the Estop if there is any overflow.
• Controls the cooling water for casting line.
• Turns on the cool water when start casting.
• Turns off the cooling water when casting stops.

• Trains new employees in proper procedures and ensures they understand the importance of the process and how it can affect quality.
• Responsible for keeping the casting line clean.
• Keeps all areas, stairways, aisles, and deck surfaces clear.

• Must be willing to work in a foundry manufacturing environment, where working conditions can be hot or cold depending on external temperatures.
• Must be willing to follow all safety protocol and wear all required PPE.

• Most of the time is spent in an office setting outside of the production plant or warehouse center. The environment will include, at times walking onto the plant production floor where there is weather and non-weather related hot or humid conditions, extreme cold, working near moving mechanical parts or equipment.
• The noise level in the work environment is quiet in the office, but can be loud when on the production floor, warehouse or loading areas.
• Frequently required to sit.
