As our Operations Manager in Chicago Heights, Illinois, you'll lead one of Nufarm's largest and most complex manufacturing facilities, partnering with the North America Manufacturing Leadership Team to deliver operational excellence while building a culture focused on safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.

How You'll Help Us Grow

As Operations Manager, you will:

  • Lead the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the Chicago Heights manufacturing facility.
  • Champion a strong safety culture with a focus on Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) performance and Process Safety Management (PSM).
  • Drive operational excellence across Production and support functions, including Quality, Planning, Logistics, and Maintenance.
  • Align plant operations with business strategy and deliver site and corporate objectives.
  • Lead Mechanical Integrity and regulatory compliance programs, ensuring compliance with OSHA and company standards.
  • Monitor plant performance through key operational metrics and drive improvements in safety, quality, productivity, reliability, and cost.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations.
  • Develop, coach, and empower leaders and employees to build a high-performing, engaged workforce.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support new product introductions and operational excellence.
  • Contribute to the North America Manufacturing Leadership Team and help shape regional manufacturing strategy.
Could This Be You?

You're an experienced manufacturing leader who is passionate about safety, operational excellence, and developing people. You thrive in complex manufacturing environments and enjoy building high-performing teams while driving continuous improvement.

You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in chemical or process manufacturing, including batch processing.
  • Proven success leading manufacturing operations in a complex production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM), Mechanical Integrity, and OSHA regulations.
  • Experience driving Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong business and financial acumen with the ability to translate operational performance into measurable business results.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to influence, coach, and collaborate across multiple functions and levels of the organization.
What We Offer

Our compensation structure is designed to reflect the cost of labor across various U.S. geographic markets. The base salary range for this position is $160,000 to $200,000 per year.

Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.

At Nufarm, we believe in total compensation. In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for additional forms of compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, which includes medical, financial, and other wellbeing benefits.
