GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

We are seeking a detail-oriented and process-driven Inventory Specialist Intern who would like to get started in the realm of manufacturing. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, executing inventory transactions, performing cycle counting, supporting production operations, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and inventory processes.

The ideal candidate has strong computer skills, understands manufacturing workflows, and feels that they can thrive in a fast-paced warehouse setting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Execute daily inventory transactions in our Epicor ERP System (receipts, transfers, adjustments, issues, returns, etc.)
  • Perform routine and scheduled cycle counts, investigate variances, and implement corrective actions
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods
  • Support manufacturing operations by ensuring timely material availability
  • Assist with and coordinate annual physical inventories
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, root cause errors, and process gaps
  • Monitor and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and part numbers in Epicor
  • Ensure proper documentation and process compliance for all inventory movements
  • Collaborate with Purchasing, Production, Shipping, and Quality teams to maintain efficient material flow
  • Analyze inventory data and generate reports to support operations and leadership
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to increase inventory accuracy and warehouse efficiency
  • Support warehouse organization, labeling, and location control processes
LANGUAGE SKILLS
  • Must be fluent in English
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Working knowledge of inventory transactions, material control, and warehouse processes
  • Familiarity with physical inventory audits and reconciliation processes
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing workflows and supply chain processes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Physical demands include standing, walking, sitting, use of hands and fingers, reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing, talking or hearing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Wet or humid conditions (non-weather)
