Job Description DEPARTMENT:
Maintenance

REPORTS TO:

Works under the direction of the Maintenance Superintendent and Maintenance Foreman. SUPERVISES:
Has no supervisory authority but has a higher degree of responsibility when assigned to work with Class B maintenance employees and laborers. GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
Maintains and repairs all equipment and buildings within the District’s jurisdiction. QUALIFICATIONS AND

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

A high school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of combined work experience in the following craft areas:
Carpentry, Heating & Cooling, Plumbing/Pipe fitting, Electrical/Electronics, Mechanical and Welding.
Must possess journeyman level or above average skill in two of the following;
Mechanical, Welding and Plumbing/Pipe fitting
. Specific craft areas may be required for each particular job opening. A high mechanical aptitude is required. He/she must have a valid driver’s license, be personable, able to take orders and work well with others. Tests may be given to determine the applicant with the best growth potential. 20/40 corrected vision is required. Typical duties include but are not limited to:

Investigate, test, troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions

Rebuild or replace pumps, motors and valves

Service and repair vehicles and portable equipment

Service and repair electronic equipment

Repairing buildings and maintaining grounds

Repair or replacement of piping and valves

Maintain and clean tools necessary for proper maintenance in an operating and orderly fashion

Painting or cleaning as assigned

ENVIRONMENT:
Works in the operating treatment plant with its related hazards. Must be able to inspect plant equipment and buildings. Expected to respond to an emergency call-in 24 hours per day, 7 days per week in a timely manner. As a public employee, the individual is expected to display the appropriate public conduct.
