Job Description DEPARTMENT:
Maintenance
REPORTS TO:
Works under the direction of the Maintenance Superintendent and Maintenance Foreman. SUPERVISES:
Has no supervisory authority but has a higher degree of responsibility when assigned to work with Class B maintenance employees and laborers. GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
Maintains and repairs all equipment and buildings within the District’s jurisdiction. QUALIFICATIONS AND
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
A high school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of combined work experience in the following craft areas:
Carpentry, Heating & Cooling, Plumbing/Pipe fitting, Electrical/Electronics, Mechanical and Welding.
Must possess journeyman level or above average skill in two of the following;
Mechanical, Welding and Plumbing/Pipe fitting
. Specific craft areas may be required for each particular job opening. A high mechanical aptitude is required. He/she must have a valid driver’s license, be personable, able to take orders and work well with others. Tests may be given to determine the applicant with the best growth potential. 20/40 corrected vision is required. Typical duties include but are not limited to:
Works in the operating treatment plant with its related hazards. Must be able to inspect plant equipment and buildings. Expected to respond to an emergency call-in 24 hours per day, 7 days per week in a timely manner. As a public employee, the individual is expected to display the appropriate public conduct.
