General Ledger Associate

Overview

RWE Clean Energy, LLC is hiring a full‑time, permanent General Ledger Associate to support month‑end financial reporting for the parent company and its investors.

• Perform month‑end close duties, including preparing standard and miscellaneous journal entries and reconciling balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly US GAAP financial statements for review by the Financial Reporting team.
• Provide ad hoc analysis to internal customers and assist with special projects.
• Respond to accounting inquiries from internal and external auditors.
• Establish best practices for the monthly close and account reconciliation processes to operate efficiently and effectively.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field (required).
• CPA license preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant work in the energy industry or a related field.
• Familiarity with IFRS and US GAAP.
• Experience with ERP systems, SAP preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage customer relationships.
• Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space.
• Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams.
• Strong leadership, communication, and deadline‑management skills.
• Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables.
• Ability to multi‑task while working independently and as part of a team.
• Motivated self‑starter, goal‑oriented, and strong problem‑solving abilities.
• Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and communicate effectively with diverse backgrounds.
• Responsive to direction, coachable, and detail‑oriented with strong business acumen.

The annual base salary range for this position in Illinois is $63,000 – $95,000.
