We are seeking an Assistant Controller / HR Administrator to support both our financial operations and internal HR reporting and compliance functions. This role is approximately 80% accounting/finance and 20% HR administration, working closely with company leadership in a stable, team-oriented environment.
Accounting & Finance Responsibilities (80%)- Assist the Controller with daily accounting operations
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Support job cost accounting and project cost tracking
Assist with monthly close, financial statements, and reconciliations - Maintain general ledger accuracy and supporting documentation
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and audit preparation
- Work with project managers to ensure accurate cost reporting and allocation
- Assist with cash flow tracking and financial analysis
- Prepare and maintain HR reports related to headcount, compliance, and employee records
- Coordinate interview scheduling and candidate communication for roles submitted by recruiting partners
- Maintain employee personnel files and ensure accuracy and confidentiality
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including required employment documentation
- Assist with payroll reporting and benefits administration support
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws
- Support management with HR documentation, policies, and legal requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in accounting/finance, preferably within construction or project-based environments
- Prior experience supporting HR functions, including reporting, compliance, payroll, or employee administration
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
