Overview

If you're a confident Senior Bookkeeper looking to step into a leadership role within a dynamic advisory team.
Your new company Our client, a leading Adelaide-based professional services firm providing accounting, business and advisory services, is seeking an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to lead a small, high-performing bookkeeping team and deliver accurate, timely and compliant bookkeeping and payroll services across a diverse client portfolio. Working as part of a Business Advisory Services team, this role plays a key part in supporting Directors and Managers, managing client relationships, and ensuring high-quality outcomes across bookkeeping, payroll, BAS/IAS, reconciliations, and year-end compliance.

What

you''ll do
  • Lead and support a team of four bookkeepers (three offshore) to deliver high-quality bookkeeping and payroll services.
  • Identify knowledge gaps and provide training and support to team members.
  • Manage client relationships, providing timely responses to queries and excellent service.
  • Process creditor invoices, debtor receipts, journals, AP and AR functions.
  • Reconcile bank, credit card, loan, and other GL accounts.
  • Deliver end-to-end payroll processing, including reconciliations, superannuation lodgements, and payroll tax.
  • Prepare and reconcile monthly and quarterly BAS and IAS.
  • Complete EOFY processes including RTWSA, payroll tax recon, STP finalisation.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting, taxation, and employment legislation.
What you''ll need to succeed
  • Certificate IV in Accounting & Bookkeeping.
  • Proven experience in a senior bookkeeping or team leadership role.
  • Strong hands-on technical capability across bookkeeping, payroll, and compliance.
  • Experience with Xero and MYOB (essential); exposure to Reckon, Quick Books, Dext or Hub Doc is advantageous.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, communication skills, and a proactive approach.
  • Confident dealing directly with clients and managing multiple deadlines.
