Accounting Manager, Financial Reporting
Innovative property management firm and real estate brokerage is seeking an outgoing and motivated individual to join their team. Due to recent growth, they’re in need of an Accountant to help meet high client demand. Their office is a rapidly growing, tech savvy, and innovative property management firm located on the North side of Chicago in the West Town neighborhood.
The Accountant will be responsible for a diverse portfolio of assets and accounting processes. Properties range from single condos and multi-unit walk ups, to strip malls and office buildings. We provide services to individual landlords and financial institutions. The role will be exposed to many different properties and provides a well‑rounded career, while providing a challenging work environment at the same time.
The ideal candidate will be a self‑starter who’s friendly, adaptable, detail‑oriented, ambitious, professional, and able to multitask. Responsibilities- Oversee the financial operations of the company, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Report directly to the Director of Accounting, Ownership, other division leaders, and clients themselves.
- Manage a team of accountants and bookkeepers and their daily entries.
- Perform account analysis and reconciliation to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Prepare and present financial reports to management, highlighting key insights and recommendations.
- Manage the month‑end and year‑end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
- Collaborate with other departments to develop and monitor financial goals and objectives.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Provide guidance and support to the accounting team, including training and development opportunities.
- Stay up‑to‑date with industry trends and best practices in financial management.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Proven experience in financial accounting or related roles
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and best practices
- Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office applications, particularly Excel
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Qualifications- 3-4+ years of professional accounting experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics, or equivalent experience
