Accountants One is partnering with a client on a search for a Senior Accountant. In this role, the Senior Accountant would work closely with an experienced Controller and a small, collaborative accounting team. The organization provides a 100% paid full benefits package and operates on a hybrid work schedule.

Position Summary

The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the monthly close process, maintaining the integrity of financial records, and assisting with external reporting and audit activities. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.

Job Description
  • Execute month-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare and post journal entries; maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger.
  • Contribute to the preparation of SEC filings (10‑K, 10‑Q) and other regulatory reports – prepare schedules for footnotes and respond to audit queries.
  • Assist in the coordination and execution of foreign statutory audits, including preparation of supporting documentation and resolution of auditor requests.
  • Conduct variance analysis to identify trends, explain fluctuations, and support management decision‑making.
  • Perform account reconciliations and balance sheet reviews; identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support financial operations and reporting.
  • Support SOX compliance efforts, including documentation, control testing, and process improvements.
  • Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned (ad hoc projects).
  • Utilize advanced Excel skills to analyze large datasets and improve reporting efficiency.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting (required).
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Experience in multinational and/or large public companies preferred.
  • Experience supporting SEC reporting (10‑K, 10‑Q) preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (including pivot tables, XLOOKUP, and large data analysis).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • A combo of public and private experience is ideal for this environment. Self‑starter who is a hands‑on individual contributor.
