Location: Chicago, IL
Salary: $120,000 – $140,000

On behalf of our client, a growing manufacturing company based in Chicago, we are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee the company’s accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management within a manufacturing environment and be eager to contribute to process improvement and operational excellence.

• Manage the day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end close.

• Prepare and review financial statements and ensure compliance with GAAP.

• Oversee cost accounting, inventory accounting, and manufacturing-related financial reporting.

• Develop and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures.

• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to drive business decisions.

• Partner with operations and leadership to provide financial insights and recommendations.

• Manage external audits and coordinate with auditors as needed.

• Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the accounting function.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; at least 2+ years in a supervisory or managerial role.

• Manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred.

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.

• Experience with ERP/accounting systems; advanced Excel skills.

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

• Salary range: $120,000 – $140,000, commensurate with experience.
