Job Description
We are currently seeking a qualified and highly motivated Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, analytical, with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple accounting responsibilities effectively. The position reports to the Accounting Manager (Americas) and requires a hybrid schedule of 3 days a week in office (2 days in Chicago, 1 day in Northbrook).
Responsibilities- Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, recurring entries, and adjusting entries.
- Support and execute the month‑end and year‑end close processes, ensuring timely, accurate, and well‑controlled financial results.
- Perform account reconciliations and analyses, ensuring reconciling items are properly documented, reviewed, tracked, and cleared in a timely manner.
- Monitor and analyze accounting data to identify trends and variances.
- Partner with cross‑functional teams and international stakeholders to gather financial information and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist with internal and external audits by preparing supporting documentation.
- Help maintain the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial data and reporting.
- Participate in accounting and finance initiatives, including process improvements and special projects as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
- CPA preferred.
- Intercompany transaction experience preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of accounting experience.
- ERP User
Experience:
Oracle preferred. - Collaborative style and ability to work with cross‑functional and international teams.
- Strong GAAP knowledge, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
The estimated salary range for this position is $61,000 to $80,000 and is based on multiple factors, including job‑related knowledge/skills, experience, and geographic location. The position is eligible for an annual bonus with a target payout of 5% of the base salary. Benefits include health coverage (medical, dental, vision), wellness programs, and a 401(k) retirement plan. Paid time off consists of 15 days of vacation, 9 holiday days, 3 personal days, and 72 hours of sick time.
