Summary of Position
Responsible for timely and accurate accounting for center/headquarter accounting and administrative accounting functions: managing bank relationships, wire transfers, maintaining financial worksheets, filing state registrations, record keeping, and various related projects.

Job Responsibilities & Duties
Preparation of foreign centers and headquarters accounting in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Recording of monthly accounting transactions; review and adjustment of general ledger coding of center expenses and revenues in accordance with IES policy and budget. Make necessary accruals of liabilities and assets; reconcile balance sheet accounts and perform income and expense analyses.Coordinate and work with appropriate center staff to ensure agreement, understanding and correction of submitted monthly accounting activity. Train foreign and domestic staff in the preparation and recording of financial transactions.Prepare, conduct, and report on internal audits of centers and Chicago.Identify and make recommendations for improvements in internal controls.Analyze financial results with prior period actual results and budgets. Assist managers with preparation and revision of budget/forecasts.Respond to inquiries from independent auditors by providing analyses and preparing reports as requested.Assist Accounting Management in the management and reporting of company-wide cash movement: prepare consolidated reports of cash payments to foreign centers; maintain a cash payment calendar; prepare spreadsheets of foreign currency cash needs; execute electronic bank transfers and maintain wires logs.Maintain spreadsheet of foreign currency purchases, record foreign currency trades, schedule payments, and wire the funds on appropriate due dates.Carry out special projects and roles in conjunction with Accounting Management: assist with research projects; administer corporate credit card operations; maintain additions, deletions, and revisions of cardholders; investigate and resolve cardholder issues; prepare spreadsheets for various reports; prepare Chicago inventory of assets and manage and track center inventory records; conduct inventory of corporate physical assets at headquarters.Handle various administrative tasks for Accounting Management: liaise with banks and vendors; manage signatory changes; open/close bank accounts; wire transfers to vendors and company branches; maintain and edit vendor files, including 1099 information; file periodic state registrations; maintain records in manual and electronic formats; assist with projects using Excel, Word, or PowerPoint; disseminate information for company-wide controls; assist other staff with routine tasks;
track responses and compliance with centers, preparing follow-up emails.Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.Experience & Qualifications/Skills
- Minimum 1–5 years of experience in a similar accounting role; public accounting experience is a plus.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
- Higher education or study abroad experience is helpful but not required.
- Strong computer and Accounting ERP experience (Internet, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Workday ERP or Salesforce experience is a plus.
- Excellent communication, organizational, problem‑solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Entrepreneurial spirit, strong written and verbal communication.
- Computer aptitude and ability to compose correspondence from notes, discussions, or independently from knowledge of circumstances and policy.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA certification is a plus). High School Diploma required. Must be legally able to work in the United States.
