Audit Staff Accountant

The ideal candidate will have experience performing audit and assurance procedures, preparing work papers, and assisting with financial statement engagements for privately held companies.

• Assist in the planning and execution of audit, review, and compilation engagements
• Prepare audit work papers and supporting documentation in accordance with professional standards
• Perform testing of internal controls and substantive audit procedures
• Analyze financial data and identify potential issues or discrepancies
• Assist with the preparation of financial statements and related disclosures
• Communicate with clients to obtain necessary information and supporting documentation
• Work collaboratively with engagement teams to meet deadlines and client expectations
• Stay current on accounting and auditing standards, including GAAP and GAAS
• Participate in client meetings and fieldwork as needed

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• Approximately 2 years of public accounting audit experience
• Progress toward CPA certification preferred
• Strong understanding of GAAP and GAAS
• Experience preparing audit work papers and performing audit procedures
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Experience working with privately held companies
• Exposure to manufacturing, distribution, real estate, professional services, or nonprofit clients
• Familiarity with Case Ware, CCH Engagement, or similar audit software
