Stefanini Group is hiring an Accountant for the Chicago, IL location (Hybrid). This is a W2 position.
Responsibilities- Perform general accounting activities including the preparation, maintenance, reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and ad‑hoc journal entries and general accounting tasks. Help identify and address discrepancies and irregularities and implement solutions as appropriate.
- Perform a variety of routine and moderately complex review functions, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) standards, Financial Accounting Manual (FAM), policies, and best practices.
- Assist with compliance functions including supporting the Bank's SOX/COSO function.
- Participate in daily assignments, partner with other departments and districts to ensure shared transactions/processes are completed accurately and timely, communicate effectively with all partners to ensure transactional integrity and issue resolution.
- Prepare, review, and analyze accounting records and other financial reports.
- Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
This is a hybrid position requiring a minimum of four days per week in the office.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required with relevant work experience.
- CPA, a plus.
- Big Four audit or SOX/COSO compliance experience, a plus.
- Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or other accounting software, a plus.
- Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply Financial Accounting Manual (FAM) guidelines and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Analytical and problem‑solving ability appropriate for subjects and issues of moderate complexity.
- Acute attention to detail with a high degree of data accuracy and integrity.
- Strong oral and written communication, ability to work on required information and concepts with people at all levels of the organization.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with people at all levels of the organization.
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, along with several other software applications as needed for the role.
- Power BI & Tableau, a plus.
- Strong time‑management skills, ability to organize your time appropriately.
