The Opportunity:
Valenti is seeking a diligent and detailed oriented person to serve a key role in the Company’s Accounting Department. The candidate should possess strong analytical and communication skills; capable of clear, concise and direct communication between internal team members and external partners. The candidate will be working closely with our project teams in a collaborative and supportive working environment under the direct supervision of our Controller
- Manage the full financial lifecycle of construction projects from project setup through closeout
- Responsible for preparing and submitting monthly project billings and ensuring all required backup is included (AIA G702/G703, sworn statement, waiver, and required subcontractor documents)
- Review, code, and process vendor and subcontractor invoices for accuracy and contract compliance; upon funding from Owners, issue subcontractor & vendor payments
- Collect and review all required lien waivers from subcontractors and their suppliers for each draw and remit to Project Owners
- Oversee the set-up of new projects in ERP system and upon closeout, ensure job records are properly reflected
- Generate and review standard monthly job cost reports to ensure accuracy
- Support accounting team in research and introduction of new initiatives in addition to system and process improvements
- Assist in providing documentation for internal/external audits and Owner reviews
- Support the accounting team in overseeing financial operations, including maintaining accounting principles, practices, procedures, and controls.
- Assist with special projects and other accounting team areas as requested
Skills:
- A minimum of 3-5 years related experience in the A/E/C industry, preferably with a general contractor or a B.S. in Accounting or Finance
- Construction accounting systems experience required;
Viewpoint Spectrum experience preferred - Title Company experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of change order management, G702 and G703 documents, and lien waivers
- Basic understanding for recording corporate operating expenses
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook and Teams
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Well-organized with the capability to prioritize and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Must be results-oriented and demonstrate the ability to work both independently and in a collaborative manner with team members
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
- Aptitude for learning new things and a problem solver who takes initiative to seek solutions and offer suggestions for improvement
- Maintain strict confidentiality of financial, personnel, and proprietary information of company operations
