Job Summary
Reporting to the General Manager, the Fuel Accounting Supervisor will work with the Into-Plane Fueling management team at ORD Airport and lead the Fuel Accounting/Administrators group. Responsibilities include efficiently completing all Fuel Inventory and Accounting tasks, including fuel inventory management and month‑end close. The role requires strong computer skills, problem solving, and exceptional leadership skills.
Your activities- Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the business operations and financial systems.
- Prepare monthly journal entries and reclassifications when needed.
- Lead daily meetings between the fuel accounting department and management team.
- Find missing gallons by month end and close the month with zero unallocated gallons.
- Prepare accrual journals.
- Assist in special projects and other areas assigned by management.
- Submit all financial information and reports as required by the Controller, General Manager, Auditors, and Airline Members within the agreed time frame and format.
- Ensure that administrative and control procedures are followed and maintained.
- Maintain and oversee daily Fuel Accounting according to established A4A Spec 123 procedures for Accounting of Jet Fuel Inventory.
- Lead a team of five fuel accounting admin clerks.
- Interface with airline management personnel to implement or clarify fuel inventory requirements.
- Prepare weekly and monthly Fuel Inventory Reports and distribute them to Fuel Facility Managers and consortium members.
- Perform periodic audits to assure accuracy of fuel accounting procedures.
- Make recommendations regarding report format, processes, and procedures.
