Addison Group is partnering with a well-established, rapidly growing organization to identify an Assistant Controller to join its corporate accounting team. This position will play a key role in supporting a complex, multi-entity accounting environment, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and driving process improvements across the organization.
Reporting to senior accounting leadership, the Assistant Controller will oversee a small team while balancing hands‑on accounting responsibilities with strategic initiatives focused on scalability, efficiency, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Support and help lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process
- Prepare and review consolidated financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Ensure timely and accurate balance sheet reconciliations and income statement analyses
- Oversee intercompany accounting, eliminations, and foreign currency transactions
- Manage and enhance monthly accrual processes and account reconciliations
- Identify and implement process improvements, including automation and system enhancements
- Partner with finance teams across the organization to ensure consistent application of accounting policies and procedures
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls to support compliance and financial reporting accuracy
- Assist with external audits and coordinate with third‑party service providers
- Collaborate cross‑functionally on inventory, cost accounting, and operational reporting initiatives
- Prepare management reporting and support ad hoc financial analysis
- Contribute to projects related to growth initiatives, new business offerings, and geographic expansion
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA strongly preferred
- 6–10 years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting and/or industry
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements
- Experience working within a multi-entity and/or international accounting environment
- Prior experience leading, mentoring, or supervising accounting staff
- Background in operationally complex, manufacturing, distribution, or inventory-intensive environments preferred
- Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools
- Advanced Excel skills and strong systems aptitude
