Addison Group is partnering with a well-established, rapidly growing organization to identify an Assistant Controller to join its corporate accounting team. This position will play a key role in supporting a complex, multi-entity accounting environment, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and driving process improvements across the organization.

Reporting to senior accounting leadership, the Assistant Controller will oversee a small team while balancing hands‑on accounting responsibilities with strategic initiatives focused on scalability, efficiency, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and help lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process
  • Prepare and review consolidated financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
  • Ensure timely and accurate balance sheet reconciliations and income statement analyses
  • Oversee intercompany accounting, eliminations, and foreign currency transactions
  • Manage and enhance monthly accrual processes and account reconciliations
  • Identify and implement process improvements, including automation and system enhancements
  • Partner with finance teams across the organization to ensure consistent application of accounting policies and procedures
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls to support compliance and financial reporting accuracy
  • Assist with external audits and coordinate with third‑party service providers
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally on inventory, cost accounting, and operational reporting initiatives
  • Prepare management reporting and support ad hoc financial analysis
  • Contribute to projects related to growth initiatives, new business offerings, and geographic expansion
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • 6–10 years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting and/or industry
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements
  • Experience working within a multi-entity and/or international accounting environment
  • Prior experience leading, mentoring, or supervising accounting staff
  • Background in operationally complex, manufacturing, distribution, or inventory-intensive environments preferred
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong systems aptitude
