As a senior member of the accounting team, you will provide financial leadership and oversight for complex development and redevelopment projects while supporting strategic decision-making across the organization.
- Prepare monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Record and manage journal entries, including cash, accruals, depreciation, and amortization.
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and ensure financial accuracy.
- Assist with audits, tax reporting, and compliance requirements.
- Prepare lender draw packages and monthly financial reporting.
- Review and code invoices within ERP systems.
- Serve as the accounting lead for assigned development and redevelopment projects.
- Monitor and analyze development budgets, project costs, and financial performance.
- Partner closely with Property Management, Asset Management, Development, and Operations teams to provide financial guidance and support informed decision-making.
- Collaborate with stakeholders during month‑end close and throughout project life cycles.
- Identify financial risks, opportunities, and trends, communicating insights to leadership.
- Act as a subject matter expert for development accounting and project cost tracking.
- Lead special projects related to process improvements, reporting enhancements, and operational efficiencies.
- Help strengthen internal controls and accounting best practices across the organization.
- Mentor and support junior accounting team members, sharing knowledge and promoting professional development.
- Review and provide guidance on accounting processes to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
