At BB, you are more than just a number. You’ll join a tight-knit team that genuinely values you as a person and a professional, invests in your success, and celebrates your growth. You can make a real difference in the lives of both clients and coworkers while continually expanding your knowledge and expertise in the accounting field.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and review complex federal, state, and local tax returns for privately held businesses, S-Corporations, partnerships, C Corporations, and high-net-worth individuals, ensuring compliance with current tax laws and regulations.
- Conduct tax research and technical analysis on complex issues.
- Provide proactive tax planning and advisory services to entrepreneurial clients, identifying opportunities for tax optimization, credits, and deductions while mitigating risks.
- Assist in or lead tax provision work, estimated tax calculations, extensions, and responses to tax notices or audits (IRS, state, and local).
- Collaborate with clients, shareholders, and junior staff to gather information, resolve tax issues, review work papers, and deliver value-added insights on tax compliance and planning matters.
- Perform detailed tax analytics, reconcile book-to-tax differences, and identify process improvements or planning strategies that enhance client outcomes.
- Mentor and review the work of junior tax professionals, contributing to the development of the team while maintaining high standards of accuracy and technical excellence.
- Stay current on evolving tax legislation (e.g., OBBBA impacts, IL conformity, federal updates) and apply this knowledge to client engagements.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting from an accredited university
- 3–10 years of public accounting experience
- Active CPA license
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong critical thinking and attention to detail
- Self-motivated with a genuine drive to deliver excellence
- Salary range: $85,000 – $115,000 (based on experience and credentials)
- Annual discretionary performance bonus
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance
- 401(k) with company match
- Payment of CPA license renewal and 40+ hours of CPE annually
- Hybrid work schedule (4 days in-office target during busy season, more flexible off-season)
