We are looking for an experienced bookkeeper / staff accountant to provide interim staffing and resourcing solutions to clients, working onsite or remotely as required.
Responsibilities- Create or maintain records of financial transactions for clients using various accounting systems.
- Perform daily accounting activities, including recording transactions, reconciling sub‑ledger account balances, and financial reporting.
- Verify, allocate, and post details of business transactions to the accounting system.
- Complete month‑end accounting close procedures.
- Support audits by external entities, preparing supporting schedules, gathering information, and providing analysis as requested.
- Prepare ad‑hoc reports such as cash receipts and expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, profit and loss statements, and other operational reports.
- Perform payroll and payroll tax‑related returns.
- Analyze financial information to prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other reports summarizing current and projected company financial position.
- Verify contracts, orders, and vouchers, and prepare reports to substantiate individual transactions prior to settlement.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred;
Associate's degree in Accounting required. - CPA or CMA preferred but not required.
- Public Accounting experience preferred but not required.
- 3+ years of full‑charge bookkeeper/staff accountant experience, including journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, and work paper preparation.
- Financial statement preparation and analysis experience.
- Proficiency with Quick Books, Sage, and/or Creative Solutions accounting software.
- Experience with CCH® Pro System fx® Fixed Assets preferred.
- Frequent regional travel required.
- This is a non‑exempt position; overtime may be required.
