Tax Manager - Chicago, IL

We are seeking a dynamic, entrepreneurial tax professional with 5–7 years of experience who is eager to take on a leadership role in a fast‑growing public accounting environment.

You will manage client engagements, review and prepare complex tax filings, lead staff development, and assist with tax consulting across federal, state, and international matters.

This is a full‑time position available for immediate hire, based in a confidential client’s Chicago, IL office.

Position Overview

The Tax Manager will serve as a key member of the leadership team responsible for staff development, client management, and oversight of federal and state corporate and partnership tax engagements, with opportunities to support broader consulting and technical projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Train, mentor, and develop staff as part of the firm’s leadership team.
  • Manage client relationships and deliver high‑quality service.
  • Review and/or prepare federal and state corporate and partnership income tax returns.
  • Review and/or prepare ASC 740 income tax provisions.
  • Assist with tax consulting and research involving domestic, state, and international topics.
  • Support organizational growth through technical expertise and proactive client service.
Desired Skills & Experience
  • 5–7 years of experience preparing federal and state income tax returns.
  • 1–2 years of tax return review experience.
  • CPA license preferred.
  • Experience with CCH Axcess and Pro System fx Engagement.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
