Bullpen, on behalf of its client, is hiring a Controller – Real Estate Finance & Accounting

Our client, a fast-growing real estate investment firm, is seeking an experienced Controller to lead financial operations, optimize reporting processes, and bring structure to a scaling platform. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with deep real estate investment accounting experience who thrives in a high-accountability environment and enjoys building systems—not just maintaining them.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead all accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow functions

• Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with GAAP

• Build and maintain financial models across assets, funds, and forecasts

• Oversee investor reporting, distribution tracking, and fund performance updates

• Manage accounting for multiple investment entities (funds, syndications, joint ventures)

• Track investor capital, distributions, and fund-level financials

• Ensure financial compliance and manage third-party audits and tax prep

Cash Flow & Strategic Finance

• Oversee cash flow and liquidity planning

• Identify financial process improvements and efficiency opportunities

• Support leadership in structuring new funds and growth initiatives

What We’re Looking For:

• 5+ years of experience in a Controller or senior finance role within real estate, private equity, or fund management

• Deep knowledge of real estate accounting, fund structures, and financial reporting

• CPA preferred but not required (real estate investment experience is essential)

• Track record of managing investor capital accounts, distributions, and reporting

• Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and GAAP compliance skills

• Comfortable in a build-out or transformation environment—this is not a maintenance role

• Proficiency with accounting platforms, fund management tools, and dashboards
