Jackson James have partnered with a leading global manufacturer to recruit an Area Controller to oversee the financial performance of three manufacturing facilities. This is an excellent opportunity to join a new division within a well-established international business with a strong reputation for innovation, operational excellence, and sustainable manufacturing.
You’ll play a key leadership role within the Finance team, overseeing financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, and internal controls across multiple manufacturing sites. You'll work closely with Plant Managers and senior leadership, providing commercial insight and financial guidance to support operational performance and strategic decision-making.
You'll also lead and develop a geographically dispersed accounting team while driving continuous improvements across financial processes and controls.
Responsibilities:- Lead financial reporting and accounting activities across multiple manufacturing locations.
- Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and financial statements.
- Partner with plant leadership to analyse operational performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability.
- Lead annual budgeting and monthly forecasting processes.
- Perform variance analysis and present actionable financial insights to leadership.
- Review and maintain standard costing and support cost accounting activities.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate internal and external audits.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reporting accuracy.
- 5+ years' experience in manufacturing finance, plant accounting, or controller positions.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting, standard costing, inventory accounting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Experience supporting manufacturing operations and partnering with plant leadership.
- Previous leadership or people management experience.
- CPA, CMA, or MBA qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
This position can be based in either Franklin Park, IL or Charlotte.
