Senior Cost Accountant

, one of North America's leading manufacturers of heavy-duty trailers and transportation equipment, for a Senior Cost Accountant to join their corporate finance team in downtown Chicago. This position owns the accounting and financial reporting for two manufacturing facilities while partnering closely with plant leadership, operations, engineering, and supply chain.

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process
• Prepare financial statements and management reporting packages
• Analyze manufacturing cost, labor, material, and overhead variances
• Perform product costing and margin analysis
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities
• Partner with plant leadership to improve financial performance
• Maintain strong internal controls and inventory oversight
• Drive process improvements through ERP systems (JDE preferred), Excel, and Power BI

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 5+ years of accounting experience
• Manufacturing accounting and cost accounting experience strongly preferred
• Experience with month-end close and financial reporting
• Inventory accounting and variance analysis experience
• ERP experience (JD Edwards preferred)
• Advanced Excel skills
• CPA is a plus, but not required
• Willingness to travel approximately 10-15%

• Salary range: $75,000-$115,000
