Our Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) team is expanding rapidly, and as a Senior in the Technical Accounting Advisory Group (TAAG), you will play a key role in that growth. You will work across all industries, engaging with clients on complex financial and accounting issues including consolidation, joint ventures, IPOs, business combinations, compensation, revenue recognition, derivatives and hedging, debt vs. equity, SEC reporting, leases, and more.
This highly visible position requires direct interaction with FAAS, audit teams, and clients to deliver exceptional service and deepen technical accounting expertise.
- Think on your feet and challenge existing practices to develop solutions to complex issues.
- Build relationships and identify opportunities for clients across service lines.
- Collaborate with partners, senior managers, and other consultants to design and influence strategy.
- Travel occasionally to meet with key clients and support engagements.
- Consulting with clients on complex and technical accounting issues.
- Collaborating with partners, senior managers, and clients to influence strategy, balancing risk and client expectations.
- Ensuring engagement teams thoroughly understand clients’ unique needs, ambitions, and expectations.
- Building relationships with colleagues across multiple service lines to provide seamless, integrated service.
- Managing performance and identifying opportunities to improve products and processes.
- Bachelor’s degree, CPA certification and 2 to 5 years’ work experience, preferably as an auditor in a public accounting firm.
- Strong technical writing and presentation skills.
- Strong project management and time management skills.
- In-depth understanding of US GAAP.
- Exposure to or interest in complex technical accounting topics is a plus.
- Understanding of marketplace terminology, processes, and tools.
- Proven record of excellence when managing, mentoring, and improving a team of high‑performing colleagues.
- Confidence to research and resolve emerging client issues, including regulations, industry practices, and new technologies.
- Ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary.
- Reliable transportation to/from the EY office and client sites; a driver’s license is strongly recommended.
- Competitive compensation and benefits package with a base salary range of $90,800 to $149,800 for most U.S. locations, and $109,000 to $170,200 for New York City Metro Area, Washington State, and California (excluding Sacramento). Total Rewards include medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
- Hybrid work model: most client‑serving roles will work together in person 40–60% of the time over the course of an engagement.
