Our client, a privately held financial services organization, is seeking an Accounting Manager to support accounting operations, financial reporting, cash management, audit coordination, and recurring reporting deliverables across a complex business platform.
This role will work closely with senior finance leadership, internal business partners, and external service providers to ensure accurate reporting, strong controls, and timely completion of recurring accounting and reporting activities.
The ideal candidate brings strong accounting fundamentals, experience reviewing detailed reporting packages, comfort working with multiple stakeholders, and the ability to manage deadlines across recurring reporting cycles.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Manage recurring financial reporting activities across multiple business units, entities, or reporting structures.
- Review reporting packages, supporting schedules, work papers, reconciliations, and related materials prepared internally or by external service providers.
- Review quarterly and annual financial statements and reporting materials to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
- Support preparation and review of recurring stakeholder-facing reporting deliverables.
- Calculate, review, and analyze financial and operational information and communicate key results to finance leadership.
- Coordinate annual audit activity and serve as a key point of contact for external auditors.
- Monitor cash activity, liquidity needs, and upcoming funding requirements.
- Prepare recurring cash analyses to support finance and senior leadership reporting.
- Coordinate payment activity and related documentation with internal teams and external service providers.
- Review recurring fee calculations, expense allocations, and related accounting schedules.
- Track upcoming cash needs related to business activity, financing events, expense obligations, and stakeholder distributions.
- Support bank account administration and related documentation.
- Serve as an accounting and reporting resource for finance, operations, and internal business teams.
- Coordinate with internal teams on transaction activity, due diligence support, and related accounting needs.
- Assist internal stakeholders with responses to reporting requests, data needs, and ad hoc analysis.
- Partner with senior finance leadership to improve accounting processes, reporting workflows, controls, and external service provider coordination.
- Support special projects, process improvement initiatives, and additional accounting or reporting needs as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
- 5+ years of public accounting, corporate accounting, financial reporting, investment accounting, or related accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
- Experience reviewing work papers, reconciliations, financial statements, reporting packages, and supporting schedules preferred.
- Prior experience coordinating external audits and working with auditors preferred.
- Strong understanding of cash flow, expense allocations, recurring fee calculations, and stakeholder reporting.
- Experience in financial services, asset management, investment accounting, private markets, or complex multi-entity environments preferred.
- Experience working with external service providers, auditors, treasury, operations, or internal business stakeholders preferred.
- Reviewer-level or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong Excel, analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail with ability to manage deadlines across multiple reporting cycles & stakeholder requests.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to partner effectively with finance, operations, internal business teams, and external service providers.
