Senior Accountant, Core Accounting
This role reports to the Manager of Core Accounting and will support general accounting and internal controls for the North American (NA) zone. Specifically, the Sr Accountant will provide accounting support across key Core Accounting areas, including support for a small acquisition to ensure US GAAP and policy compliance, global contract accruals and prepaids, property tax, and other North America projects.
The role plays a key part in ensuring US GAAP and policy compliance, helping to develop controls and processes, and assisting with analytical review and reporting as needed. This role offers a meaningful and exciting opportunity to lead and contribute to a broad range of projects across Kraft Heinz, with visibility to management and exposure to different areas of the business, including work related to both US & Canada business.
The Sr Accountant must have a strong partnership with various other Finance and Accounting groups, Global Business Services (GBS), IT, Treasury, and Tax. We are looking for someone who brings a strong attention to detail, owns and challenges current processes and drives change by developing processes that support business growth, strategy shifts, cross team collaboration and continuous improvement.
What's on the menu?
- Perform accounting and reporting tasks to support the month-end close which include entering transactions, preparing journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accruals within Blackline, and assisting with analytical reviews of consolidated results
- Prepare and review accruals and prepaids while partnering with business stakeholders. Involves coordinating with Finance and IT to ensure accurate & complete reporting, as well as implementing processes that support a changing business environment.
- Support accounting activities for acquisition. Role plays a key part in ensuring accuracy and compliance of acquisition's financials with US GAAP and Kraft Heinz policies.
- Drive process improvements through automation and developing procedures for addressing issues
- Maintain processes and procedures to ensure accounting, reporting and controls are in compliance with US GAAP and Kraft Heinz policies
- Support financial audits including internal, external, and SOX
- Support accounting and analysis related to property tax in partnership with tax.
- Contribute and lead other North America projects as required.
- Perform other ad hoc duties as required to support Core Accounting.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA a plus.
- 3+ years of experience in corporate and/or public accounting.
- Experience with SAP, Blackline, and BI Dashboards a plus.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations.
- Ability to effectively lead, manage, and prioritize multiple projects while operating in a fast-paced, complex, global organization.
- Strong sense of ownership over space, proactive mindset.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication and conflict management skills.
New Hire Base Salary Range:
$80,100.00 - $
Bonus:
This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus as provided by the plan terms and governing documents.
The compensation offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors
