Withum’s Tax Services Group is a team of tax specialists dedicated to ensuring compliance with international, U.S. federal, state, and local tax regulations while minimizing liabilities. The Tax Manager based in Lincolnshire, IL will lead all tax engagements, supervise staff, and nurture client relationships.
Responsibilities- Review individual, trust, partnership, and corporate tax returns prepared by staff and seniors for accuracy.
- Research and draft memoranda on complex tax matters.
- Identify and implement tax planning opportunities.
- Handle and resolve tax controversies.
- Oversee complete tax research projects for diverse clients and industries.
- Manage multiple engagements concurrently with various teams to meet client deadlines.
- Conduct constructive discussions with team members on evaluations and provide counsel.
- Serve as an instructor or discussion leader in professional development programs.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (required).
- CPA license, JD, or Masters of Science in Taxation (required).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a public accounting tax department, with leadership of multiple engagements and staff supervision.
- Excellent analytical, technical tax, and client-service skills.
- Strong ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, results-based environment.
- Leadership, training, and mentoring skills with strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Organizational, project-management skills, and strong attention to detail.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
Base salary range: $125,000 – $160,000. Additional benefits include a competitive benefits package and a bonus program based on individual and firm performance.
