Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review monthly project financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Manage project billing, lender draw requests, capital expenditures, retainage, and cash flow reporting.
  • Coordinate with project managers, developers, and construction teams to ensure accurate project cost reporting.
  • Monitor project budgets and assist leadership with financial forecasting and decision‑making.
  • Support month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes.
  • Assist with external audits, lender reporting, and investor reporting requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience with at least 3 years supporting commercial real estate development, construction, or project accounting.
  • Strong understanding of development accounting, job cost accounting, construction draws, and project financial reporting.
  • Experience managing project budgets, forecasting, cost tracking, and variance analysis.
  • Experience with Sage 100/300 and preparing draws.
  • Experience with ERP or accounting software such as Yardi, MRI, Timberline/Sage 300 CRE, Viewpoint, or similar systems preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial modeling.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to collaborate across accounting, development, and construction teams.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
