Responsibilities

  • Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process for a portfolio of real estate investments.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Maintain general ledger activity and ensure financial records are accurate and complete.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, cash activity, and balance sheet accounts.
  • Prepare financial statements and management reporting packages.
  • Analyze property operating results and investigate budget-to-actual variances.
  • Review accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash transactions for assigned entities.
  • Assist with investor reporting and lender reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate with property management teams regarding financial activity and operating results.
  • Support external audits and tax preparation by gathering requested documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and U.S. GAAP.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and leverage technology to increase efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 1–2 years of accounting experience (public accounting internship or commercial real estate experience is a plus).
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
  • Excellent Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and basic financial analysis.
  • Experience with ERP or property accounting systems is a plus (Yardi, MRI, JD Edwards, Sage Intacct, or similar).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
