Rocket Travel by Agoda is looking for an Accounting Manager to join our growing accounting team. In this role, you’ll work closely with our team to oversee general accounting duties related to month‑end close, AP/AR processing, treasury function, and other ad‑hoc requests. Web‑savvy, energetic, and analytical individuals with a solid business/accounting background that are willing to be proactive and apply other skills and talents toward the company’s collective goals are encouraged to apply.

This is a Chicago‑based contract position slated for a minimum of 9 months (with possible extension).

• Oversee the monthly and year‑end close process, including closing entries and reviewing the close task list accurately and timely.
• Perform high‑level review of B/S and P/L accounts with the Controller to ensure financial statement completeness and accuracy.
• Manage monthly account reconciliation process for B/S accounts and corresponding journal entries.
• Assist the Risk & Controls Manager in implementing the SOX Readiness plan and documenting procedures accordingly.
• Help with the Salesforce Optimization project by implementing best practices and metrics for the team.
• Review and approve journal entries by team members to ensure accurate recording and correct financial statement impact.
• Oversee timely processing and reconciliation of invoices, ensuring AP functions are processed promptly.
• Support Treasury activities by reviewing wire/ACH payments, wire templates, and overseeing weekly cash reconciliations.
• Review A/R invoices and account statements, ensuring AR balances and aging are accurate and collection policies are followed.
• Monitor employee expenses and approve expenses for timely reimbursement, ensuring compliance with the expense policy.
• Manage accounting staff team members and help further their development in accounting and career trajectory.
• Take ownership and drive results, contributing resourcefully to projects and adapting to the dynamic team environment.

• 5-8 years of relevant accounting experience.
• A business‑related degree, preferably Accounting; CPA required.
• Strong knowledge of Excel and SQL.
• Familiarity with Oracle and Salesforce systems.
• Positive attitude and willingness to work and communicate with a small team.
• Well‑rounded attention to detail and an analytical approach to problem solving.
• Ability to make data‑driven recommendations for improvement.
