A real estate company in Chicago is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their growing team. This hybrid Staff Accountant position offers a competitive salary of up to $80,000 and provides an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative accounting team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys financial analysis, month-end close responsibilities, and partnering with internal teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.

- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and general ledger adjustments.
- Perform monthly account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, and assist with month-end and year-end close activities.
- Prepare financial reports, analyze account activity, and investigate variances to support management decision-making.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice review, payment processing, and monitoring outstanding balances.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning by tracking trends and comparing actual results to projections.
- Maintain accurate financial records while assisting with audit preparation and ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to complete ad hoc reporting, improve accounting processes, and support day-to-day accounting operations.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience required.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, general ledger accounting, and month-end close processes.
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and other reporting functions.
- Experience with accounting software;
Sage Intacct experience is a plus. - Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
