Financial Controller

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Financial Controller for a growing freight brokerage organization. This individual will serve as a strategic and hands‑on financial leader responsible for owning the company's accounting operations, cash flow management, financial reporting, and overall financial health. The ideal candidate will be able to quickly develop a deep understanding of the business, provide executive-level financial insights, and lead accounting functions while remaining involved in day-to-day operations.

The company is looking for someone who can go beyond managing a team and act as a true business partner to leadership.

Responsibilities:

Own and manage all accounting and financial operations.

Lead an offshore accounting team

Develop a thorough understanding of the company's P&L and provide financial analysis to support business decisions.

Manage cash flow forecasting and reporting, with visibility into accounts receivable, accounts payable, and liquidity planning.

Lead and optimize factoring processes, ensuring accurate tracking of receivables and business cash flow.

Partner closely with executive leadership to identify trends, risks, and opportunities within the business.

Oversee accounting staff, including offshore accounting resources.

Drive process improvements and support future system enhancements or ERP implementations.

Provide market and financial insights that help guide company growth and operational strategy.

Skills and Requirements

3+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience.

Experience managing factoring operations within a freight brokerage, transportation, or non-asset-based 3PL environment.

Experience with in freight brokerage, transportation, logistics, or 3PL environments.

Strong experience analyzing and managing P&L performance.

Experience with cash flow management, forecasting, and accounting operations.

Hands‑on leadership style with the ability to operate both strategically and tactically.

Strong understanding of accounting functions including AP, AR, and financial reporting through Quick Books. Experience supporting a non‑asset-based business model.

CPA certification.

Prior Controller or CFO experience.

Experience leading offshore accounting teams.

Exposure to accounting system migrations or ERP implementations such as Oracle or ADP.
