Benefits Accounting Manager

Addison Group is partnering with a multibillion-dollar, publicly traded industry leader to identify a Benefits Accounting Manager to join their accounting team.

This role will lead the accounting and reporting activities related to employee benefit plans, including pension, health & welfare, deferred compensation, and other employee benefit programs. The position offers the opportunity to lead a team, work cross-functionally with multiple finance groups, and play a key role in a highly visible area of the accounting organization.

• Oversee accounting for pension, health & welfare, deferred compensation, and other employee benefit plans
• Manage preparation of benefit plan financial statements and Form 5500 filings
• Oversee tax filings related to employee benefit plans
• Support external reporting and disclosure requirements related to pension and OPEB plans
• Partner with actuarial consultants, treasury, finance, and investment teams on pension and OPEB valuations, forecasting, and accounting matters
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors and key business stakeholders

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Current or prior management experience required
• Strong pension accounting experience required
• Experience leading and developing staff
• CPA preferred but not required
