Tax Manager

Compensation: $125,000–$160,000 base + bonus

A growing and well-established CPA firm in Chicago, IL is looking for an experienced Tax Manager to join its team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a CPA who enjoys working closely with clients, handling complex tax matters, and taking on a leadership role within a collaborative public accounting environment.

• Manage tax engagements from planning through completion
• Prepare and review complex federal, state, and local tax returns
• Provide tax planning and advisory services to individual and business clients
• Research and resolve complex tax issues
• Serve as a primary point of contact for clients
• Review work prepared by Senior Accountants and Tax Staff
• Manage engagement timelines, budgets, and deliverables
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships
• Mentor and develop junior team members
• Work closely with Partners and other senior professionals on complex engagements

• CPA license required
• 5+ years of progressive public accounting tax experience
• Strong experience with individual and business tax returns
• Experience managing multiple client engagements
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local taxation
• Excellent client service and communication skills
• Strong organizational and project management abilities
• Experience reviewing and mentoring staff
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
