Accounting Manager
Finkl Steel is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, month-end close, and audit coordination. This hands-on role is responsible for preparing accurate financial information, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting the business through timely and reliable financial reporting.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working in a lean manufacturing environment where priorities can change, processes may be manual, and resourcefulness is essential to meeting deadlines and driving results.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports, analyze financial results, and explain significant variances.
- Maintain general ledger integrity and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
- Lead the annual external audit process, including preparation of audit schedules, supporting documentation, and audit deliverables.
- Maintain and improve accounting processes and internal controls.
- Support inventory, fixed asset, accrual, and other accounting activities.
- Assist with ad hoc projects and accounting/finance-related tasks.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, including 3+ years in public accounting (audit preferred).
- Strong accounting and financial reporting experience.
- Experience leading the month-end close and annual audit process.
- CPA preferred.
- SAP or ERP experience preferred.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong accounting and financial reporting knowledge.
- Experience preparing financial statements, journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Ability to prioritize work, manage competing deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
Compensation
Salary Range: $115,000-$135,000 + Bonus and full benefits
